GOODFELLAS: the other GODFATHER.
Martin Scorcese lifts his story from Nicolas Pileggi's drab true-crime novel, Wiseguy, and forges a knife-edged film that becomes a paragon of gangsterdom.
It's only been around since 1990, yet its legacy seems timeless.
abnd starring Practicallly everyone from what would one day become the next biggest gangster icon, THE SOPRANOS (excepting Tony Soprano himself)
iconic.
the almost remedial-reading Nicolas Pileggi book, Wiseguy, Martin Scorcese Attains an edge in some respects in that the story Goodfleellas was lifted from Nicolas Pileggi’s book, Wiseguy, about a real life character.
THe story is not even as compelling as the way it is told, Scorcese's knife-edged filmic stylings creating iconic vignettes
Though not as hot and charming as Ray Liotta
And an iconic performance by Joe Pesci, as Tommy.
