How sad the tale of Sniper 5. first, in a position where he couldn't fire on anyone, trapped in crossfire; when someone runs towards him he shoots them in the face, then the police, who think he's a terorrist fire on him and kill him and the helicopter pilot taking cover with him.
Incompetenece - no comuncation, no cohesion. and the idiot news networks broadcasting live pictures of the police trying to sneak up on the roof - to the terorrists inside watching the news on TV.
The reality is more damnable than any screenplay.
Is it tasteless, is it exploitative, is it art? Entertainment? All of the above? In this world of endless media, even as I watched New York's Twin Towers pluming thick black smoke, I knew - and many would have called my cynical at the time - that somewhere, some lowlife sordid movie exec was mulling over how he would start the ball rolling to secure funding to make a movie about the 9/11 event. The 9/11 movies prove I was right. |
