Woody loves Scarlett - this is her fourth? picture with him. eVERYONE underplaying their roles, except for Scarelt who is still overacting - or at least acting in that annoying way.

The narration is something you can imagine coming out of Woody's mouth, the characters still speadk as if they're Woody, but without the neurotic tone.
they're open-minded, intelligent, cultured, sensual, real people living art-filled lives very much removed from the type of art-dilled life one would experience in capitalistic, puritanical Ameirca.

bravetry in portraying the thteeesome, Allens' characters never do settle in to a particular mode or settle down so to speak and "live happily ever after" yet even though we feel we've only itnessed a small portion of tyheir life's journey, we feel fulfilled.

Chris messina - the vapid bf who turns up out of nowehre and makes rebecca realize that though her one-night affair, though no mistake, was somethign which cul dnever be recaptured. she was out with bardem instead because scarlett got sick and they have a languid romantic evening that ends in great sex, she gives him her brunette flesh; next night bardem calls and takes scarlett out - she gives him her plastic blond love. Rebecca is wrecked over it.

even the title is so cool - not vicky and christina in barceloan OR THE NIGHT WE SPEN IN BARCELONA - just this anachronous smashing together of proper nouns.
